Mobile dominates the country's digital video market.
Digital video is the bread and butter of internet users in Mexico. Three-quarters of the country’s online population will consume digital video content at least once per month in 2015, eMarketer estimates, putting Mexico ahead of the UK and nearly on par with the US for this key metric of web usage, according to a new eMarketer report, “Mexico Digital Video 2015: A Medium Best Served with a Focus on Demographics.”
As in many other markets, rising smartphone adoption is driving digital video consumption in Mexico. In fact, a number of sources indicate the majority of consumption is already coming from mobile devices. Google and TNS data supports the notion of a mobile-dominated digital video market. Like it or not, SEO is a belief system. There are many people convinced by its power, whereas other people manage to thrive online without giving it a second thought. It is sometimes like the man with the bowl of custard, if you do lots of SEO and you get results, you prove to yourself that it must have been the SEO that achieved those results. It is impossible to think that your belief might be wrong. After all you have the “evidence” that it works. Equally, there are people with the “evidence” that it does not work.
This whole arena of what we believe in has been brought into focus with new psychological research conducted in Toronto, Canada. This looked at what happens when people get evidence that counters their belief system. What would happen, for instance, if there were evidence that businesses achieved online greatness without paying attention to SEO? What would the devoted fans of SEO say?
This research gives us a clue. When people have their beliefs challenged by the evidence, they start to adopt a viewpoint which presents something that cannot be falsified... More at Bussiness2Community
It’s time for the conversation about real-time marketing to move on. It’s not that the conversation is over. Rather, it’s that real-time marketing needs to evolve into something bigger and more important than simply sending out catchy posts timed to news events.
That’s the upshot of a series of interviews we conducted with brand and agency executives for a new eMarketer report, “The Evolution of Real-Time Marketing: What Marketers Are Thinking—and Doing—Now.” Their viewpoints provide a snapshot of the current state of real-time marketing and how companies can expand their thinking about this important topic.
The definition of “real-time marketing” is changing. Many now refer to it as “right-time marketing.” The difference is subtle, but important: Something delivered at the right time doesn’t necessarily have to be created in real time. Even if it was developed days or weeks before, if it is delivered at the optimal moment, it feels real time. More at eMarketer.
Whether you’re just getting started in the world of social media or have long-established yourself as a social marketing wizard, launching a brand-new Twitter profile or Facebook page can be a laboriously time-consuming process, especially when it comes to working out the sizes of all the images you need to make your channels — or those of your clients — stand out from the crowd.
